.NET Developer+

TIES is seeking a talented web application developer to join our team working on a national, high-volume e-commerce web application. This position reports to the director of E-Commerce and Community Engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing enhancements to established web applications 
  • Performance tuning and optimizing web applications to ensure maximum availability, performance and effectiveness 
  • Creating analysis and design documents 
  • Documenting and executing software test plans (unit and integration testing) 
  • Supporting quality assurance testing and production installations 
  • Managing a list of enhancement projects and ensuring leadership is fully apprised of status 
  • Providing accurate and timely estimates 
  • Leading small to medium-sized enhancement projects and software releases 
  • Providing third-level help desk support and debugging and resolving application issues
Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science or related; master's degree preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum one year of experience writing conceptual and detailed design documents, including UML diagrams preferred
  • Minimum two years' programming with .NET framework including  ASP.NET, C#, MVC, ASP.NET AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, web services (SOAP, REST), and XML 
  • Practical experience with Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio 2010, Team Foundation Server) required  
  • Practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 required 
  • Practical experience with Microsoft WCF strongly preferred  
  • Practical experience with unit testing software tools/techniques preferred

Database Administrator+

TIES is looking for a talented individual to join our growing team, in the position of Database Administrator.  The Database Administrator must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be skilled at troubleshooting and resolving database software and database integrity problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifies database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems.
  • Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, back-up and recovery specifications.
  • Installs revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.
  • Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

Qualifications:

  • Formal training in programming languages, database software and computer architecture.
  • At least five years' experience in programming and systems analysis, including at least three years' experience in database administration.

Javascript Developer+

TIES is looking for an independent, critical-thinking developer who is passionate about their craft and able to understand concepts quickly and work within constraints as pragmatists to make amazing software for students and teachers in K12.

To that end, we’ve built edSpring, a next-generation education web app. The first iteration of our software is a Response to Intervention (RtI) engine that makes it really easy to intervene and monitor students of varying abilities so schools can provide a dynamic instructional environment that meets the individual needs of every student.

Software Application Consultant - HRPay+

As a Software Consultant, you will consult with customers and TIES staff on planning, implementation and use of the TIES complex K-12 human resource, payroll and employee self-service application.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Consulting with TIES customers and staff on planning, implementation and use of TIES HRPay application systems and technology
  • Training
  • Consultation work at customer sites with various levels of application users
  • Writing appropriate communications, including training documentation, status reports and other general documentation
  • Facilitating ongoing application user special interest groups and customer focus groups
  • Assisting in the analysis, development, quality assurance and coordination of the implementation of new or enhanced application services
